Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) - Concord Group Insurance
What is an Authenticator App?
An authenticator application (app) is a program you can download from the App Store or Google Play onto your smartphone or desktop to conveniently complete multifactor authentication for your sign in. These apps can generate a randomized one-time code to complete your authentication process. Our MFA process is compatible with authenticator apps you may already be using.
What Authenticator App Should I Use?
There are several authenticator apps to choose from. It’s important to find a reputable and secure option. When you are looking for an authenticator app to use, consider the following:
-
Account backup
-
Screenshot capability (This may be a security vulnerability).
-
Smartwatch or other security device functionality
-
Star rating in the App Store of Google Play
Can I Use the Concord Customer Center App for Authentication?
Yes, our Concord Customer Center mobile app now includes built-in support for multi-factor authentication (MFA). This means the app can function as an authenticator, allowing you to receive secure push notifications or generate one-time codes for account verification, similar to third-party apps.
If a Third-Party Authenticator App Requires Payment, Who is Responsible for Paying?
Each user is responsible for payment of charges related to their use of the authenticator app they select.
